Emotional Intelligence
In my opinion, emotional intelligence plays a crucial role in the workplace. It enables me to manage my emotions in positive ways to communicate appropriately, relieve stress and empathize with others. The four main elements of emotional intelligence are self-management, social awareness, relationship management and self-awareness. It helps in building strong relationships with my team fellows, as I know how to control my emotions and how to react with my team members. It helps to stay far away from the social complexities of the workplace and excel in the career.
For example, in TFE hotels, meetings take place every week or month. This is the place, where my emotional quotient comes into notice. If anyone is putting forward, their thoughts but if I start shouting and interrupting, it shows my malicious behaviour. Instead, if I listen to them without any interruption and speak once after they are done with their part, then this shows my respect towards them in the meeting, reflecting a good sign...
