YourFinal Projectincludes anArtist/Writer's Statementabout you (Final Draft 300 words), and anArt Proposal(3-5 pages),Due Next Friday 5/15.
Art Proposal-You are now the "nature" artist who has an idea for a project you would like to undertake. You mustwrite an Art Proposalto your School, City, Art House, etc. for a grant in order to move forward on your idea. What do you want to create? Why is it important? How does it fit into the pantheon of other nature artists?Convince them to let you move forward to create your art piece.More information on how to complete this Art Proposal is attached to this announcement.
Regarding your Writer's/Artist's Statement: This statement is about who YOU are as a writer and artist and is directly tied to your work in this class and the project you come up with for your Art Proposal.
The second half of your final project will be an Art Proposal. Using the theories discussed in class, as well as the inspiration drawn from artists we've investigated, how can you use the natural world around you to create a unique artistic project of your own? I do not expect for you to create a physical interpretation of this project. Rather, I want you to write about it.
Your final project will consist of an Artist's/Writer's Statement and an Art Proposal. For this week's Support Writing, you will compose the rough draft of your Artist/Writer's Statement. In this 300-word statement, you will explain who you are as a writer/artist: What topics (in this class) are you compelled to investigate? How do you approach your daily creative practice? How have you grown as a writer/artist this semester? And finally, what do you plan to do to continue developing your skills after this class is over?
