Download case filefor the client ETP. For now, your EY supervisor has asked you to draft an initial research memo that will shared internally with your colleagues and EY leadership. Your supervisor hopes that with a basic understanding of the client, EY will be able to begin productive conversations abouthiring new employees during uncertain and changing times in the technology industry. So the memo should show a strong understanding of ETP's current position in the technology industry. You will use this memo to engage with team discussions and brainstorm for recommendations.

The memo should be 1-2 pages (single spaced with block formatting) and you should also include a Reference(s) Page.Review the lecture slides for a suggested structure and the following are a few important notes to consider as you complete the assignment:

  Audience:EY Leadership and also your colleagues/teammates

  Purpose:You are providing a well researched memo to EY Leadership with information regarding ETP and the technology industry. EY Leadership will utilize the memo to develop a basic understanding of the client to begin productive conversations about hiring new employees during uncertain and changing times in the technology industry.

  Organization:Your memo should use a direct/deductive organization and include (1) information regarding the client and (2) information regarding the industry it is in. You can make as many key points as you deem necessary and for each key point the content should be presented withan argumentative structure (claim + evidence + source + conclusion).

  Design:This is your first assignment where design becomes a little more complicated. Write the memo with block formatting (single spaced with a space between each paragraph). Use thisMemo Template

  Credible Content:You are required tocite at least six different sourcesand you must have one source from each of the following categories: industry publications, business periodicals, scholarly journals, and external blogs or other websites.Look to theCardontext pp. 388-389 as a guide, and remember the more sources the better. Any statement you make in your memo that contains information that is not your own original thought must be cited in APA Format using in-text citations.APA Citation Instructions

  Style:As always, concision is key. Remember this is not interpersonal writing so we will not focus on using a "you" voice. An occasional personal pronoun is appropriate but your writing will become more impersonal, while maintaining a positive tone. Avoid singular first-person pronouns in analytical writing such as "I." You want the memo to be objective and built upon the credibility of your sources not your own personal anecdotal thoughts. Use second person pronouns when directing your audience to action or concluding an argument. "We" would be an appropriate second person plural pronoun to use in this document. One very important note (hopefully you have read to the end of the assignment):DO NOT refer to ETP in third person plural pronouns (they, them), it is grammatically incorrect and a habit you want to break for future situations where you are writing to UNRL as your client.Businesses are entities, so use a singular personal pronoun (it).
