Your are to use your experiences at work or in other social/professional/community organizations to create a case like those we will see and complete throughout the course. If you have questions or concerns about your idea for the case, please contact the instructor. If you don't feel that you have first hand experience, but a parent/spouse/friend does, it is possible to use their experience but you must check with the instructor before beginning.

Requirements for the case you create:

  • 1000 to 3000 words- excluding the questions

  • Tells a coherent story about the events happening in the case that will allow the reader to answer the questions.

  • Clearly explains the situation and provides enough details so that organizational behavior concepts are triggered to come to mind.

  • The story is believable and based in reality (but can be altered from reality as needed, and please change the names of people and companies)

  • 5 to 7 questions that you could expect readers to answer from
    reading the case
and with the knowledge of Organizational Behavior you have gained over the term. You are to briefly answer the questions.

Things Not to Do:

  • Do not use specific terms or definitions (e.g. James has low self-efficacy, which is defined as the beliefs one holds about their abilities in a given domain).

  • Mismatch the concepts in the questions to the details in the case (e.g. Don't ask about manager expectations, when you have never mentioned the manager and the employee exceeding/meeting/or failing to meet those expectations).
