The Aztecs had long been thought to have sprung from a primitive tribe in northern Mexico. This tribe came to Mexico around the beginning of the thirteenth century. They had traveled from Tenochtitlan, their dazzling metropolis. They came as a prominent group from Central Mexico. The precise origins of the Aztec people are unknown. They are said to have been carnivores in terms of economic activity. The name is thought to have derived from the name of their principal ancestral homeland, Aztlan, which is also known as the White Land. The Aztec language Nahuatl gave the place the name White Land. Tenochtitlan is another name for the Aztecs. Tenochtitlan is the name given to the Aztec group's capital city.
Mesoamerica is also where the Aztecs are thought to have originated. They first emerged in this area in the 13th century, as the south-central region of pre-Columbian Mexico (Healan Cobean & Bowsher, 2021). The Aztecs arrived after a brief period of time following the fall of a prior group that had controlled Mesoamerica, namely the Toltecs. The Aztecs were mostly successful in establishing a state. This state was the birthplace of a magnificent agricultural system. The Aztec community's agriculture was primarily centered on aggressively farming all accessible land. The agricultural strategy utilized also placed a strong emphasis on irrigating their property and all of the wetlands at their disposal in order to produce more crops than if they had simply used the undeveloped land.
The abundant crop that they produced as a consequence of watering their land was sent to the richest and most populous states. The Aztec governmental system was essentially centered on an empire. The Aztec empire was made up of city-states known as altepetl. There was a monarch who was the supreme leader of each altepetl. The tlatoani was the name given to the highest leader.
