Enterprise architecture is an architecture that includes practices and principles helpful for an organization in guiding their business, information, processes and the changes in technology for planning their strategies. One of the best examples can be process of SSO (Single Sign on) for uniform accessing. SSO is applicable via IP Networking and users of SSO can use the whole system with a single ID.
2) Using company case example, discuss what is strategic information systems? Why is strategic information systems important for organizations?
Strategic inf
ormation systems (SIS) are responsible for producing a product or service at lower price and gives competitive advantage to corporate business. Infosys Technologies Ltd. Implemented one of the SIS called CIMBA – Customer information management by all. This helped improvising the communication between Infosys and its customers. SIS is important for an organization to achieve strategic goals and also to increase productivity and performance.
3) Why is it important to improve business processes, reduces operational costs, and promotes real- time visibility in business performance?
Business Processes are important in achieving certain goals and when these processes work well they improve efficiency and effectiveness. Also Operation costs of organization should be tracked to reduce wastage of extra money and save the organization in incurring losses. The data projected from Real time analytics helps in increasing data relevance and also in analyzing the supply chain which shows the companies productivity.
4) Demonstrate your understanding of concepts of business alignment and IT/IS alignment from both an academic and practitioner perspective.
From an academic perspective these concepts showcase the unsuccessful attempts in controlling relationship between business and IT. Also popular models of these concepts cannot represent failure of actual world efforts in applying IT to business. From a practioner’s perspective success of these concepts depends on communication and developing trust. Also case studies proved many of these concepts cannot be implemented without collaboration between organizations.

1) What are the drivers for using IS/IT?
Drivers or device drivers are a computer program operating or controlling a specific device attached to a computer. Driver functions to provide hardware devices with software interface that gives an access of those hardware devices to other computer programs. Hence, the main purpose of the device drivers is to provide an abstraction through working as a translator between the operating system of the computer and the applications and hardware devices attached to it.
2) Outline the inhibitors regarding IS/IT use.
There are various inhibitors regarding the use of Information technology or Information system. Lack of management awareness within the staff; lack of properly trained staff to work with the IS. There might also be resistance against setting up a user interface that is uniform, across the organization. Lack of skills, especially with the complexity and size of the development of the new software. Changing user requirements can also cause inhibition in the use of Information technology in a system.
3) What are emerging technologies? Provide current examples of emerging technologies. Technologies that still have largely unrealized practical applications, development or both are known as emerging technologies as they are “emerging” into prominence in a figurative way from a non-existent background. Some examples of Technologies that are currently emerging are Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, 3D printing and Biotechnology.
4) What are emerging technologies? Provide current examples of emerging technologies.
The issues and challenges faced by public sector in the use of information system emerge when there is a need to consider the enhancement and development of the systems in the organization were not all of those information systems are computer based. There rise problems with the backup, security and governance issues.
Problems with integrating Information technology in SMEs results from a lack of strategy, problems with attracting or retaining the best employees for the job of managing IT and mostly the challenges faced while changing situations and the emergence of new technology.
The challenges in Public sector and SMEs remain more or less similar.

Public sectors and SMEs have similar problems with IS and IT operation when it comes to management.
Problems arise while recruiting employees for IT management. Making the employees aware about the importance of information sharing and Information system in the organization is also a challenge for the leaders. Due to changing technologies, organizations often find themselves in chaotic situations while trying to cope up with the new technology.
6) Analyze public sector IS/e-government initiatives using key theoretical frameworks.
E-government is a government that provides the facility to carry out the functions of government through the use of Information and Communications Technology. Through this the government aims at equally safeguarding the rights of the citizens, being transparent in dealings and providing faster responses as an attempt to be better at governing. Some of the initiatives taken for e-government are, computerized land records, giving computerized ownership copies to the land owners; providing a computerized facility to pay taxes and other government financial dues.
