LEADERSHIP THEORY
Trait-based: Thomas Carlyle has developed the trait theory. As per the theory, every leader has certain inbo
rn characteristics or qualities. These characteristics are intellectual factors, personality, communication skills, and others. In case of conflict within the school, this leadership theory can be applied.
Emotionally intelligent: Howard Gardner introduced the emotionally intelligent theory. Leaders with emotionally intelligent theory are aware of the people’s emotions and make the decision accordingly to minimize their impact (Weinberger, 2019). In school, I will use the leadership style when some critical announcement is made, such as a list of failed students or related to it.
Situational: Paul Hersey and leadership Ken Blanchard developed situational leadership. Situational leaders can adopt the leadership style as per the situation and people associated with the task. In school, I will opt for situational leadership if any new policy is implemented and employees are not happy with it.
