You are to submit an individual report (3500 words, +/- 10%) based on a project/case of your choice. Research should be undertaken through case studies in textbooks; or articles in newspaper/journals; or reports and article on the internet. The research must be based on a real life project undertaken by any company in any industry. The article or report must highlight some problems on the project. In other words, you are to identify a project that faced problem(s) during the project life cycle.


The problems must be based on either one or a combination of the followings:


i.    Project could not be completed as it cannot meet the requirements (SCOPE)


ii.    Project was delayed, i.e. delivered late or completion date was rescheduled (TIME)


iii.    Project was not within its budget or did not make profits (COST)


iv.    Project did not achieve consistent performance specifications (QUALITY)






Identify the project problem(s) and analyse the contributing factor(s). The case must be CRITICALLY ANALZYED, commensurate with expectations at the Masters level. This will be followed by recommendations for improvements. See the deadline in table 2B. Please read the Grade Descriptors in the Assignment 2 Grade Descriptor table.




The report should consist of the following main sections:
•    Introduction (including the company and the project)
•    Discussion & analysis of project problem(s) in terms of scope/time/cost/quality
•    Recommendation (focus on how the project could have been managed to avoid the problems)
-    Develop the project priority matrix of the project. Explain and justify the martix.
-    Provide recommendations through the relevant stages of the project life cycle on how the project could have been managed successfully.

•    References
