You are designing a spherical tank Figure to hold water for a small village in a developing country. The volume of liquid it can hold can be computed as V = I?h2 [3R - h]/3 2. Where V = volume [m3], h = depth of water in tank [m], and R = the tank radius [m].

If R = m, to what depth must the tank be filled so that it holds 30 m3? Use three iterations of the false-position method to determine your answer. Determine the approximate relative error after eachiteration?

V=(πh2(3R-h))/3
We are given that R=3m and V=30m3
30= πh2(9-h)/3
90= πh2(9-h)
h3-9h2+(90/π)=
0
h3-9h2+28.647=0
We have to find a root of the equation f(h)= h3-9h2+28.647=0 using false position method.
We have f(1)=1-9+28.647=20.647
f(2)=8-36+28.647=0.647
