You are an amino acid in the lumen of the small intestine. You are looking at transporter proteins protruding from the apical surfaces of intestinal epithelial cells. Your ambition is to be part of one of those membrane transporters.A. beginning from the challenge of entering the cell, until you have been loaded onto an appropriate tRNA. B. beginning from initiation of translation, until your incorporation into a folded protein. C. beginning from post-translational modifications, until installation on the plasma membrane

Ans:- when an amino acid in the lumen of small intestine is looking for a transporter protein
which is protruding from the apical surface of the intestinal epithelial cells to make the amino
acids a part of to begin those membrane transport system then it have to begin from post
tran
slational modification ,until installation on the plasma membrane as the this will help it to
attach to the membrane protein that will carry these amino acids . The process follows in this
way ;-
Starting from the initiation process the method of synthesis of protein directed by the m
RNA templates ,as proteins are the active participants of the cell processes,by implementing
the signalling process taking place by the neurotransmission of cell components . The
translation of m RNA is the initial step of formation of the functional proteins , then the
protein folding takes place and the post translation modification is a part of it as the lumen of
the intestine contains the cells which undergo protein synthesis by the methods of
transcription and translational modifications which is the unique process of oxidation taking
place in the endoplasmic cells located in the lumen of the intestine .this permits due to
presence of many residential protein chaperons for facilitating and promoting the productive
folding of proteins molecules and protein complexes formed . These protein chaperons
formed provide important functions in the formation of protein folding .
1. Proteins like disulfide isomerase (PDI)and cis trans prolyl isomerase catalysing the
process of protein folding reactions and increases the rate of reaction without
changing the pathway where which the final confirmation of the protein folding is
seen .
2. There are certain protein chaperons which do not actively catalyse protein folding, but
they maintain proteins in folding competent cells.
As the protein folding compartment the endoplasmic reticulum which is highly sensitive to
alteranations in homeostasis .they work with the help of different stimuli activated by several
proteins kinases to upregulate the protein folding capacity of endoplasmic reticulum .the
GPRs proteins expresses itself constitutively in all cells and in response to their transcription
a number of different stimuli disrupts the function of endoplasmic reticulum. These also
include depletion of calcium from the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum of the intestine
.although every amino acid has its own unique catabolic pathway ,the catabolism of many
amino acids exibit a number of common characteristic .complete oxidation of carbon present
in amino acids occurs only if the carbon gets converted converted to acetyl coA ,that oxidises
to carbon dioxide and water .several non essential amino acids including glutamate ,
glutamine and aspertate are extensively oxidised by absorptive epithelial cells (enterocytes)of
the mammalian small intestine .
