You are a care worker in a health and social care setting. Your line manager has asked you to care for a service user with a form of infectious disease. Evaluate the benefits of self-managed learning to the individual and the organisation. Evaluate own current skills and competencies against professional standards and organisational activities. Identify own development needs and the activities required to meet them. Identify development opportunities to meet current and future defined needs.It is recommended that your personal skills audit activities should include the following. a. Complete at least 2 – 3 different computer and or paper based self-assessment learning style questionnaire from the internet. b. Complete a word process table formatted holistic development plan with short, medium- and long-term goals. This must include your research on learning style (s), your own personal or preferred learning style and include planning cycle, practical skills, interpersonal skills, application to practice, level of performance, learning experiences and preferred learning style. c. You must monitor your progress against the plan according to the requirements of a health and social care practitioner over period of 3 month, 6 month and 1 year, revising the plan as required. d. Evaluate the effectiveness of the development plan to own development as a health and social care practitioner. You will be required to give an oral presentation of A-C.
