The aim with this assignment is that you are able to develop a report that addresses a number of key issues related to health professional communication. It also encourages you to produce a major piece of work that reflects your thoughts and ideas about a significant aspect of health professional communication and link this with relevant theory and literature in support of your learning.

  1. Reflect on what is happening in the video. Do you think the way the people are communicating in the video has the potential to affect client safety? (Please refer to the marking criteria when writing your report)

  2. This assignment requires you to write a report about effective professional communication. Ensure you stay focused on communicationnotclient safety. You will need to research the importance of effective professional communication to client safety. Use the template supplied with pre-formated headings. When talking about what is happening in the video be specific - identify who is doing what?

Introduction
In this paper, we would be discussing the importance of the interpersonal communication which is vital to maintaining a healthy relationship between the healthcare professional and the patient. To have a smooth interpersonal communication it is important to understand the patient requirements and to also treat him individually and to decode his own needs and problems. Through this paper, we would be discussing the need to have an effective communication which would happen between the doctor and patient and steps to improve it. This would help to adhere to the interpersonal communication and align with the health policy issue (Hallas, 2015).
Through this paper, we would be identifying the behavioral problem of individual members and distinctively creating a 'barriers to communication' which is shown in the video and effectiveness to adhere to the inter-professional team and ensure an improved collaboration skills Towards the end we would also be analyzing the situation presented in the video and to understand the client perspective along with the inputs presented by the professionals and professional organization (Earnest, 2015). The ‘Purpose’ is to define an effective interpersonal communication and the ‘Scope’ of the project is limited to the literature review, video and reviewing various articles.

The importance of the interpersonal communication is critical for the healthcare interaction. It is evident for any start of the interaction with anyone, it is important to have effective communication skills which can serve as a smooth discussion. It also helps to have proper verbal and non-verbal communication skills. For this, there is also a need to build and question the importance of the interpersonal skills which can be used within the healthcare context. This also helps in possessing the ability to maintain a healthy positive relationship which would exist in between the healthcare professional and balance with their client (Hallam, 2016).
Interpersonal skills in the health care also serve as a rapport building and it is important for a person to acquire such skills set which would help in communicating effectively and encourage to develop a trusting relationship with any client. Another art is to rightly place the questions while communicating with the patients. It is important to read the verbal and the nonverbal cues while interacting with the patients. Often any unintentional or the informed consent can lead to confusion or any or any uneasy situation. To have a better interpersonal relationship it is important to develop a healthy good doctor-patient relation that can have a smooth diagnosis and to properly treat the patient. There is a need to integrate the medical condition and to build a healthy trust while treating the patient by the doctor.

It is important to keep the patient engaged and for this, the doctor should make the patient comfortable. This can be done through the proper examination and steps taken for the medical interview that can help the doctor to understand the cause and to extract all the information which can be determined in a professional way that can make the patient uneasy. There is a need for a build empathy and also build a respect which can allow the feeling to make a patient abandon with the fears. There is also a need to have a medical condition that may help in taking effective decision making.
