So now that you have taken the opposite point of view as another student it is time to turn that critical eye inward and take on your own beliefs about communication.
For this assignment you will write a brief (200 words) paper that requires you to step in your opponent's shoes. Feel free to take notes on how other students attacked your stance on communication in the unit discussion if you are having trouble coming up with ideas. Remember, just because you write it down doesn't make it true; this is an exercise in point of view and critical thinking that tests your ability to step out of your comfort zone and think creatively.
For example,if you argued that communication is stronger today because we receive news updates instantaneously, you may now choose to argue against this stance by pointing out the proliferation of false news stories and inaccurate reporting.
