Evolution of the Federalism and civil rights is a saga from several hundreds of years in the historical timelines of United States. Long years of slavery, oppression and inhumane treatment of African Americans resulted in revolt for equality and civil rights and finally accomplished the same. From the times of Struggles of blacks, where there was no any legal sanctions and humane treatment to the current scenario of total abolishing of slavery and legal provisions of equality took long years of fight and civil war. The thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth amendments to the constitutions worked profoundly to shape the current condition of federalism and civil rights in the country. There are periods of turmoil like disfranchisement of the southern states, literacy tests, grandfather clauses, however still all such discriminatory laws termed Jim Crow laws were ruled to exist separate but with equal doctrine(Fleming and Moris,2015).
