Perception and reality ar
e two but interestingly related aspects of concern. Each person will have his own perception and this is real for him. At the same time, the real reality could be different from the perception of the individual. Reality is what really existing there in and the perception is the actual image that an individual comprehends from the reality. Perception will depend on several factors which can include, the past experiences of the individual, his priorities, his emotions, his sentiments and values and so forth. So the perception might not be the same as reality, however the upper hand always stay with the reality. So, obviously the perception creates a biased view of issues and this can prove detrimental on long run in several aspects. Knowledge and cognitive distortions of a person can impact his perception of things, However, interestingly, philosophers put before an argument that there is nothing like absolute reality in the universe. Reality is postulated as something that is coincided with large class of perceptions. This is nothing but perception of large number of people or majority. So it could be possible that the perception of an individual might be in the realistic perception or it can be different from that and of course it depends on the factors discussed before. Reality is the truth and it is the actual state of things. Reality is the truth that is just truth and it is not the thing that you consider as truth as well it is not the truth which other person considers to be truth. The first case is the reality and the second and the third cases are perceptions. Perception is a choice but the reality is not a choice, but is the truth.
