Introduction
    The twenty first century c
an be termed as the era of technological advancement. The introduction of various innovative devices along with internet have brought people as close as on the fingertips. The world has arrived on the virtual digital platforms of social media and so has the businesses chasing their target audience. The promotional strategies of marketing and sales are formed to be found by its customer who is present widely on social media.
Ilavarasan et al. (2018) have mentioned that the social media has enhanced the business methods. Here the users are not limited by physical boundaries and are available virtually everywhere. The social media gives opportunity to reach wider audience along with contributing actively in marketing and sales process of the product. One of the drawbacks here can be the threats like invasion of privacy of the social media account holder.
Business and Social Media
    Promotions on social media provide an edge over the traditional methods of promoting physically, where all kinds of businesses gain wider reach on digital platforms, the physical form of marketing has limited demographic exposure. Ilavarasan et al. (2018) have indicated that social media is now a universally accepted method used for promotions and for increasing sales. Ghosh (2011), however, argued that promotions of social media may have a negative aspect for the users.
Effective marketing outcomes can be obtained by targeting segmented audience related with the product. Social media provides a medium to the marketers which allows them an easy and high output yielding niche audience. This gets better with detailed information and obtaining such detailed information puts the user’s privacy at risk.
    This concern is viewed and actioned by the governments very seriously. Garcia-Morales et al. (2019) informed that related authorities have formed many regulations to control the interactions over social media platforms.
