Introduction
The companies such as Google, Amazon and Facebook are aggressively investing in Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies and conducting research. They are acquiring new start-ups to beat the competitions right from the beginning. It is has created much hype in the market and is creating urgency for the companies to adopt the technology in some or the other way. People have mixed opinions about it. Some are supportive by stating that it will be a reason for the emergence of future technologies while some are fearful that it will take up human jobs and lead to more human crisis in the world.
Purpose of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Artificial intelligence is also known as simulation of cognitive behaviors, which is represented through computer programs as a model of human cognitive activities. It helps in task analysis and problem solving. AI mimics human behavior and provides reasoning to solve complex problems. It analyses various situations and provide data to support decision-making.
As mentioned by Johnk, Weibert and Wyrtki (2021), the different scenarios are based on the cognitive computing, which considers various information resources. The self-learning capacity of these systems make them super computers and put them at next level to humans. It uses data mining, pattern recognition and language processing to develop an understanding of human brain performance.
Impact of AI in Present Time
AI is being used in various ways to ease out the human efforts. It has helped in speeding up the routine monotonous repetitive work thus allowing the managers to concentrate on more number of better productive activities. It has influenced healthcare sector by enhancing monitoring and diagnostic capabilities (Boobier, 2018).
