Write a brief essay analyzing one of the readings in this chapter (or another selection, perhaps one by a classmate). Explain how (and, perhaps, how well) the selection works as a proposal to solve a problem. Consider, for example, how it identifies an existing problem and demonstrates its seriousness; proposes a solution and shows that it would help solve the problem and is feasible — not too costly or time-consuming; anticipates and responds to likely objections to the proposed solution as well as any alternative solutions readers might prefer; is organized clearly and logically, making it easy for readers to follow the argument.
