How does Sui Sin Far show the effects of insensitivity and bureaucracy in the lives of a family including mother, father, child and the relationship that they have? Examine a thesis statement with quotes from the story.
    The thesis statement of the assignment is the fact that the author of the text “In the Land of the Free” shows how bureaucracy or insensitivity could affect the lives of a family which includes the mother, the father and their child while upsetting the dynamics of their relationship. Bureaucracy seemed to have gotten the better of things in America as a Chinese couple was being interrogated stating that “there is nothing in the papers that you have shown us...having any bearing upon the child” (Andrews).
