Reza Aslan’s book No god but God: The Origins, Evolution, and Future of Islam can be
considered as a revolutionizing book infused entirely with the contradictions within Islam and
outside it. Going through the book a reader can surely understand that while Islam is the fastest
growing religion in the world the Muslim society of this present day is engulfed by the darkness
of ignorance, obscurity, and undue religious fears. Reza Aslan, a scholar of comparative
religions, has meticulously incorporated within the book the essence of Islam with all its
compassion, complications, complexities, and beauty and the author has never fell short of
providing a vivid discussion about the chances of ushering change in the socio-political culture
of Islamic countries and about the points of demarcation (in an ironical way) between Allah and
the Jewish God and Christ.
