Managed care may be defined as; a system of health care delivery which has developed
greatly in the US during past few years. Factors responsible for
growth of managed care include
insists by employers and government for expenditure repression, improved access, and better
quality. Despite the fact that, diverse types of managed care organizations, policies, and
approaches have grown and expanded over the past decade such as; Health Maintenance
Organizations (HMOs), Individual Practice Association (IPA), Preferred Provider Organizations
(PPOs), Medical Service Organizations (MSOs) etc, even today patients, contributors and
financiers all feel pressure because of such movement in the area of medicine (Tessler &
Mechanic, 1975).
The rationale behind is that, a number of issues are frequently raised against managed
care out of which; the most serious one is its adverse impact on Doctor-Patient relationship. This
correlation can be termed as; the foundation of care since; it’s the medium in which diagnosis is
performed, data are assembled, strategy is designed, compliance is achieved, and support is
provided. Because of such important role of doctor-patient relationship, it also influences
people's judgment to adhere and continue with a particular organization. So, any issue related
