Word Limit

Please
observe the word limit, as anything beyond 10% of the word limit will not be marked. Note that all text (including in-text citations) is included in the word count except tables, figures, the reference list and appendix.

Referencing

You need to provide a
Reference list
at the end of your assignment (last page) which shows all the references you have cited in your answers – the textbook or any published material like books, journals or periodicals.
The references must be presented in APA (American Psychological Association) format.

Appropriate in-text citations and an accurately formatted Reference section are expected. FIVE (5) marks will be deducted unless these are presented accurately in APA format.

Question

Prepare a
research proposal for a correlational research study
based on the following research topic:

Age and Job Satisfaction

In your research proposal, you should:
a. Include a literature review of at least 5 academic research papers and/or published materials on the chosen topic;
b. Formulate the research questions and hypotheses;
c. Describe the measurement issues and propose appropriate sampling designs; as well as
d. Propose an appropriate research design for this correlational study.
Please include
proper referencing
for the research papers.
Your submission should have a word count of not more than 1,500 words.

How to approach the assignment:

1. You should:
a. search for relevant journals articles and review the information relevant to the topic stated;
b. summarize or highlight some essential elements (e.g. the research problems, research methods, major findings, strengths and weaknesses) of these previous studies related to the topic stated and provide appropriate review of these studies in your literature review section.
2. You should use your creativity and analytical ability in identifying the gaps (i.e. “what else has not been done?”) in your selected area of research, based on the insights collated from the literature review.
3. You should ensure that your research proposal covers your literature review, the definition of your research problem, your research objectives and the formulation of your research hypotheses. Identify the key variables and constructs and briefly describe how you intend to operationalise the constructs and how to ensure reliability and validity of your study. Identify your target population and sampling frame (if any) and suggest an appropriate sampling design for your proposed study. Justify your choice of sample and sampling technique(s).
4. You should justify why the research question that you have formulated is best studied though correlational research strategy (i.e. why not qualitative or other quantitative methods?). You should highlight the strengths and weaknesses of correlational research strategy.

The following article would serve as a good starting guide as part of your literature review:

MUST USE this JOURNAL!!!

Clark, A., Oswald, A., & Warr, P. (1996). Is job satisfaction U-shaped in age?
Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology, 69(1), 57 – 81.

Remember to provide a word count (excluding the title and references) at the end of your assignment.

Dear Expert
I would require a proper in-text citation and proper Reference List at the end. Please ensure using the APA style!
To expedite on the literature reviews, here are some journals/articles I have gathered besides the
one given above.
However, you may want to select your own journals provided it is within 5 years time frame or less than 10 years. My Professor requires the recent journals not something outdated. My Professor highlighted that we use GOOGLE SCHOLAR to search these academic research papers.

Research Proposal on Correlational Research Study
Research Proposal 2
Research Title
A Correlational Analysis of Age and Job Satisfaction in Small and Medium Enterprises (SME’s)
Literature Review
Job satisfaction among employees is one of the significant factors that affect through
different varia
bles. Varieties of research studies have been conducted on the issue of job
satisfaction and different factors associated with this. Different employees consider varieties of
factors to get high job satisfaction, which varies according to age of the employees (Clark,
Oswald & Warr, 1996). A study has been conducted by Chileshe & Haupt (2010) on the
relationship between age and job satisfaction. In this study, researcher has evaluated this
relationship through an empirical study on job satisfaction of workers of construction industry by
using questionnaire. As per this study, differences in age have not any affect on job satisfaction
of younger and older workers.
On the other hand, Moyes, et al. (2006) have also investigated a study on relationship of
same factors. This study was also conducted through questionnaire among accounting
professionals and researcher has concluded that age and gender differences are significant for the
job satisfaction. This result was explored through six regression analysis. In support of this
Carraher (2011) has also asserted in his study that as time increases, factors that affect job also
changes. In this study, researcher has evaluated in different period of age, employees needs also
change, which influence them to get high pay, high designation, etc. and their level of job
satisfaction also changes.
Moreover, Bonache (2005) also exhibited in his study that job satisfaction is different
among expatriates, repatriates and domestic employees and it might be a cause of their age
difference and environmental factors. In this study, researcher had applied ANOVA variances to

identify different factors that affect job satisfaction. Davis (2004) had also organized a survey to
evaluate job satisfaction among 80 employees of 4 different small firms and found out that job
satisfaction of different employees impacted through different factors and age is one of them.
Research Question and Hypothesis
As this study will be based on correlational analysis of age and job satisfaction, following
research questions will be answered by the researcher through this study:
1. How, job satisfaction and age of employees related to each other? What are the different
variables that influence the level of job satisfaction between different age groups?
2. Does the relationship between job satisfaction and age contain linear and non-linear
components? How?
3. Why, it is important for managers at SME to consider age factor to provide high job
satisfaction to the employees?
According to the different studies conducted in past, there are several factors that affect
the job satisfaction and age is one these factors (Carraher, 2011; Chileshe & Haupt, 2010;
Moyes, et al., 2006; Bonache, 2005; Davis, 2004; Clark, Oswald & Warr, 1996). This study will
focus on the employees of SME’s and their job satisfaction as per differences in age, so the
following hypothesis will be proved by the researcher:
H0: There is a considerable correlation between employee’s age and their satisfaction level for
their job and designation, mainly in small and medium size enterprises, where fewer
management level and hierarchy are...
