1. Introduction
Education and learning are one of the most important aspects in a person’s life. The learning depends on different factors such as the way a teacher or guide applies or utilizes approaches to tea
ch or the way the person accepts the learning. A more proper and strong relationship is very much important among the teachers and the children’s for the early education because a more sense of rust works and that helps in more receptive power among the children’s to learn in a quick manner. In this article the critical analysis will be done on the three videos where the interaction between children and their teachers have been shown. This will provide insight the methods used by teacher/ instructor to communicate with the children’s and how effectively they impart the education to the children’s to serve the pedagogical method of teaching. Further the analysis of the verbal and non verbal communication with the children has been shown and how effectively the instructor conveys their message to the children.
2. Dialogue Analysis
2.1 Finger Painting
In this first video it has been shown that two children who are age group of four years are playing with paints. They are trying to mix up the paints over the table and the instructor is asking them to use their fingers while drawing something. The instructor tried to draw some alphabets and a diagram. The children’s were playing with yellow and green colors are the instructor was trying to help them to take out the colors from the container and pour them over the table to make diagrams. Further while pouring the container the instructor tried to make the children identify about the color of the paints. She also tried to draw alphabets and diagrams and was asking the children’s regarding what are those. With a playful nature she tried to teach the children’s regarding different alphabets and figures. Through this playful nature the instructor tried to teach the children’s which will help to keep memorize what the teacher tried to convey (You Tube, Aug 7, 2012).
2.2 Fishing – Connectivity with our Community
In this video the instructor was sitting on a boat with many children’s among them two were on the steering wheel. They all tried to create a scene that they were riding the boat in a river and there were many dolphins, crocodiles and the waves through which the boat was sometimes loosing the control. The instructor tried to recreate a scene that how the waves are coming and through that the children were imagining the situation and reacting according to that. There was a continuous conversation going on between the instructor and the children’s which were friendlier in nature and most of the times the instructor tried to imitate herself as a child as that will help her to amalgamate with the children’s and the children’s were also feeling very much relaxed and closer to interact with the instructor. A bonding that created among the children’s and the instructor will help the instructor to provide ample learning opportunities to the children’s (You Tub, May 22, 2012).
2.3 Engaging with Babies and Toddlers
In this video the instructor and toddler interaction was shown. In the playful environment the instructor were trying to teach the toddlers about various objects, animals, parka and many more things. In most of the situations the instructor were trying to let the babies try things of their own. The instructors with a great level of patience were trying to keep the babies happy instead of the changing mood of the toddlers. The babies were trying to make different shapes and way to understand the things as what they really are. Further the instructors were trying to help the babies in learning the colors and what are the colors of different objects. They were also trying to help the babies with their chores and helping them to learn which is the most important part of anyone’s life (You Tube, May 15, 2012).
3. Pedagogical Significance
Pedagogy is the process or guide that is used while teaching. This can be also referred as the science and art of education (Lam, 2019). A good teacher always has some significant amount of qualities that make them a good instructor. Through sound and supportive teacher student relationship the proper guidance can be imparted to the children’s that could be benefitted in their learning capabilities. In educational context both curricula and pedagogy goes together. With the curriculum the contents of the education that will be provided to the students are clearly defined and underlined. However that can only be properly imparted to the students only if the instructor or teachers are well capable enough to provide that education. In general practice a talented teacher is one who can able to energize the contents of the curricula which are dull and fins a way o connect that content with the real life and make them creative and imaginative among the students. This brings a sense of interest among the learners and that helps in improving the learning capabilities among the students. Deng et al. (2017) have further added that with respect to the children education which may be up to five years of age has to be a more sensitive. As it is quite a difficult task to keep the attention of the children’s because of their playful nature and their mind is also not that much capable enough to keep attention on one particular topic or subject. Hence with respect to the pedagogical significance in this scenario the teacher or instructor need to be more imaginative ad friendly as through this playful nature and friendly gesture they could able to impart education and learning among the children. Through this playful nature the instructors will try to create an imaginative environment and through that environment it will be easier for instructor to impart learning among the children.
In these three videos there can be seen a great use of the pedagogical techniques used by the instructors in imparting education to the children’s. In the first video the Finger Painting there can be seen a more active...
