WHISTLER SKI RESORT BLACKBOARD ASSIGNMENT Purpose: The objective of this assignment is to identify WBS deliverables and then create a WBS in MS Project. For Assignment 1B, Create an MS Project Plan that contains only the WBS Deliverables for Stage One. How: Read the Whistler Ski Resort Project - Attached. Also review our class lecture and reading material on best practices in constructing a WBS. What: Submit your completed assignment through the Turnitin Assignment option. Follow the instructions below: (1) The WBS should contain Level (1) thru Level (3 or 4) WBS Elements / Deliverables for Stage One (Year One). (2) Create a New MS Project Plan and Name the file "LASTNAME FIRST NAME Assign 1". (3) Enter a brief description of the project in the Properties Section File, Info, Project Information, Advance, In the comments section, write a brief scope statement (4) Set the Project Start Date to 3/16/2015. (5) In the MS Project plan enter only the project deliverables for the first stage (year 1). DO NOT assume deliverables and DO NOT include activities or duration at this time. Include only the deliverables that are described and are in scope as defined by the case study or REQUIRED by the PMBOK. (6) Recommend that you first create a WBS Hierarchical Tree Diagram before building the WBS in MS Project so that you have a visual representation of the WBS Deliverables. (7) Insert Project Summary Task and name this task 'Whistler Ski Resort Project - Stage 1. (8) Be sure to use the Task - indent / out dent (left / right arrow) feature so that the deliverables are properly organized and aligned. This is extremely important to ensure integrity of the WBS and Project Plan. (9) Capitalize and bold (black) all Level 2 WBS Elements. Use a bold blue font for Level (3) Deliverables. (10) In the GNATT Chart view, Display the following (6) columns in this order: Indicators, WBS, Task Name, Duration, Start and Finish Dates.
