While you may distinguish minor variations in emphasis or variations in technique as distinctive interventions, it may be helpful to stand back and look at your interventions more globally in order to see whether some more basic pattern is at work, such as A-B or A-B-A-C. This will help you to interpret your design. Look for designs within designs. You may have an overall game plan, but on some specific topic you may conduct what is in effect an experiment within the larger service program. Interpret these internal or subsystem designs independently, and then apply their overall outcome as part of the larger design. At all times be imaginative, but be responsible for your designs.
