While you are doing the assigned reading there is a specific section that warrants our complete attention and focus. This section, entitled “Privacy Laws, Applications, and Court Rulings starts on page 138 and continues through the top of page 157. These privacy laws are vital to us as members of the IT community. Privacy is one of the tenants of our industry, and a working knowledge of these laws is an expectation. Thus, static reading may not be enough to commit these to memory

Thus, this week, you use Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides, (or equivalent slide show software of your choice) to create a summary slide deck. Your objective will be to summarize each of the laws discussed in Chapter 4, capturing important information to help you retain this knowledge not only for Quiz #2, but in your day to day work. Plus, you will be able to use this slide deck during the Unit 2 Quiz as well.

To complete your Privacy Laws Summary Slide Deck:

1. Within your chosen slide show application, create a new slide for each law outlined from the section “Privacy Laws, Applications, and Court Rulings” in the textbook.


2. For each law, include the following information on the slide:
   
   
   1. Identify the name of the law
   
   
   2. Identify the year the law came into effect
   
   
   3. Summarize the purpose of the law in your own words (1-2 sentences max)
   
   
   4. List 2 unique characteristics of this law
   
   
   5. Search the web for at least 1 current (within last 5-7 years) news article where your chosen law is mentioned. Include a link to the article in your slide.
