While academic research (and particularly scientific research) is widely viewed as 'objective' - social, political and economic factors can and do impact on research. Continuing the workplace examples discussed in your previous papers, prepare a discussion paper that: - Explains how social, economic, political and ethical issues can impact on research and evaluation, and uses examples to support your points - Discusses how these factors may impact on research about the issue in your workplace - Considers the possible contribution of critical research to health informatics. The Discussion Paper is to be written clearly and succinctly in an appropriate academic style, with appropriate scholarly references to support discussion, and correct referencing in accordance with the Presentation of Assignments guidelines (Harvard Author-Date system). The word limit is 2000 words. You are not required to use a coversheet but please ensure that your name and student number appear as a header or footer on each page, and that the actual word count appears on the first page. Please submit your Discussion Paper to the AT3 dropbox as a single Word or PDF file.
