Whenever a patient is scanned in an MR scanner, as well as the log file men- B tioned in Exercise 6.5, the image data are saved in files that can then be exported for subsequent processing. One format for this image data, which is used on Philips MR scanners, is the PAR/REC format. With PAR/REC, the image data themselves are stored in the REC file whilst the PAR file is a text file that contains scan details to indicate how the REC file data should be interpreted. An example of a real PAR file (patient_scan.par) is available to you through the book’s web site. Write a MATLAB script m-file to extract from the PAR file and display the following information: the version of the scanner software (which is included at the end of the 8th line), the patient name and the scan resolution.Exercise 6.5When MR scans are performed a log file is typically produced containing supplementary information on how the scan was acquired. An example of such a file (logcurrent.log) is available to you. One piece of information that this file contains is the date and time at which the scan started. This information is contained in the 2nd and 3rd words of a line in the file that contains the string “Scan starts”. Write a MATLAB script m-file to display the start date and time for the scan which produced the logcurrent.log file.
