1. ABOUT
In today’s world if a company wants to make its felt online then the first and foremost step to
make an impact is via a good website which is clean, easy to navigate, clean and concise. If a
person wants to find any information whether it is related to news, food, hotel etc. they are
most likely to turn into the internet and find it. Those days are long gone when people relied
on the phone books or guides to find any particular information. Now this is just a click or
swipe away. An optimized website is very important because then only you can leave a good
impression on your potential customers. A quality website is well-polished i.e. it has no
spelling errors, no blurry images, matching fonts, visually appealing contents, modern and
functional. If you have these qualities incorporated in your website then the visitor will come
back to your website again and again. Looking at current trend of increasing mobiles, you
have to make your website built in such a way that it is optimal for mobile viewing.
Navigation on the website plays an important part because if the user finds any difficulty in
using the website then he will leave and try another website and this will result in a lost
opportunity.
In this report, I am going to undertake an in-depth evaluation of the following website:
Website: http://www.newsweek.com/
The review is to be carried out within the context of responsive web design (RWD) and
development principles. The report will draw particular attention to the interactive aspects and
design aspects relating to responsiveness of the overall website. This report will provide a
critical evaluation of the nominated website and will be supported by observations and
comments convincingly.
The nominated website will be reviewed using Google Chrome’s device simulator. Below

3. Tiny display

and portrait orientation.
The review of the nominated website must be thorough and sufficiently comprehensive to
include 5 different screen displays.

The main task here is to find is to review the RWD of the Newsweek website using the
Chrome Device Emulator. In this Report I have also used real device along with the Chrome
emulator.
2.2 Chrome Device Emulator
Website testing is becoming very complex day by day. Those days are long gone when
functionality of a website was checked in a couple of browsers. Now we have different type
mobile, tablet and desktop devices available in the market which used different type of
Operating systems and screen resolutions.
One cannot simply make a website on his laptop or desktop and give the results of its
performance on the basis of his/her machine. So to avoid the pain of using different devices,
chrome brought in the Device emulator which can be used in place of the different mobile
phones with different resolutions. Currently all browsers provide emulation tools but the best
in the market is of...
