Greenwashing is a method by the virtue of which marketer communicate wrong and false impression that can mislead people and influence their perceptions about how the product or service of the company may add value to them as well as the environment (BSR and Futerra, 2009). The operation of greenwashing can be referred as unsubstantiated communication to manipulate and deceive the customers into trusting the company, believing in their products and putting faith that the so call products and services are sustainable as well as environment friendly.
One of the biggest examples that comes to my mind when I hear the concept of greenwashing is Volkswagen. The organisation tried to deceive the regulators and manipulate their customers while working on trading the supposed cleanliness of its diesel engines (Felton, 2017). In...
