Confidence interval is defines as the range of values of which I am 100(1 – alpha) %

fident that estimated population parameter lies. Here alpha is set at a predetermined value.
Single point estimate are based on sample values like sample mean, sample proportion etc. I am
unsure of estimate of population parameter based on these sample estimates. Hence researchers
prefer Confidence interval over point estimates. Cumming, G. (n.d.).
Main strength of confidence interval is that it gives me an interval of which I am
confident that estimated population parameter lies at a predetermined level of significance. The
only weakness is that it requires more time and effort for in deciding which test to apply,...
