What do you think about allowing third world countries to import drugs (such as drugs for AIDs)without paying the patents on these to the companies that created the drugs? Is the health ofcitizens more important than patent rights? If so, will companies stop doing research anddevelopment on new drugs of these types as the incentive is low?

Allowing Third World countries to import drugs like drugs for AIDs without paying the patents on these to companies that created drugs raise a question on intellectual property rights. These poor countries need the drug and we need to find a way in which we can provide them the drug but if the pharmaceutical companies don’t receive money through patents then there would not be any incentive to spend money on research and developments of theses drugs.
