ESG or Environmental, Social, and Governance strategies follow specific standards used to measure a company's sustainability prospects by investors, customers, and employees. There is no universal method for preparing these ESG reports, and companies tend to improvise as per their strategies, resulting in a lack of standardization. However, some of the significant issues that these reports inevitably touch upon are the impact of the company's activities on the environment, particularly energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions; impact on its various stakeholders such as employees, customers, communities, policymakers and shareholders; and its overall approach towards internal administration, HR policies, demographic nuances, and leadership policies.
