Wet solids are dried from 30% to 8% moisture under constant drying conditions in 16.9 hours. The drying rate in the falling-rate period is a straight line through the origin. The critical and the equilibrium moisture contents are 15% and 5% respectively. Assuming a sample of same type of solids with initial moisture content of 33% is dry under the same drying conditions; determine the final moisture content of solid if it is only allowed to dry for 14 hrs.
