The difference between income and wealth is the amount of accumulation or savings. Income is earning of money in the form of dollar, pounds and euro etc. whereas wealth grows from savings and returns from the investment of savings. This was not the case in America for the blacks. It was lack of economic and social justice which led to ignorance of wealth inspite of heavy spending by the federal government to improve the poor conditions of the blacks. Most of the income earned by the blacks was expended in their daily expenditures, for purchase of household and luxury spending. They hardly had any knowledge or awareness of savings. Thus, there was no accumulation of funds or wealth created by the blacks that could be passed to their next generation or descendants. Blacks were bought as slaves in America imported from Africa. They were the victims of labour exploitation, followed by Jim Crow which enforced racial segregation and legal racism. Hence, the black people’s back were being attacked consistently and miserably.
