The water level in the tank is 20 ft above the invert of the floor, which is on fire. The nozzle of the hose is initially 12 inches tapering to a final diameter of 3 inches. If the flow rate is 1 cfs and there is 8 feet of head loss from the tank to the fire, what is the force required to hold the nozzle still? Ignore losses in the nozzle.
