Reflection part 1: Sexual Messages

In the first paragraph (4-6 sentences), reflect on the framing of sexuality and the ways it might influence someone's experiences of sexuality. In this section of your reflection, you should specifically discuss how ideas about sexuality are shaped by one of the following levels of the social ecology: institutional (governmental laws, religious institutional values, curriculumtaught in schools) or interpersonal (the “talk” given by parents, peer expectations).

  • What is a message about sexuality being promoted by the social ecological context you selected?

  • Based on the video, would the messages be considered more sex positive or negative in focus?

  • Be sure to link back to aconcept from the textbookand toprovide examplesto support your perspective.

Reflection part 2:
Sexual Rights

In the secondparagraph (2-3 sentences)of your journal entry, reflect on something that stood out to you based on our guest speaker's presentation. This might be something you hadn't thought of before or something you already knew but the presentation reinforced. In this section, you do NOT need to provide a personal example. I simply want to get a better sense of what information resonated with students and in what ways. You should provide some depth of understanding of the information you are discussing in this section by providingdefinitionsorexamplesfrom the talk.
