Wagnild and Young (1993) devised a 25-item resilience scale which they claimed had five factors. A shorter version of the scale, with 15 of the original items, is shown on the book’s supporting website, along with (reconstructed) data from a sample of 131 young Australian adults (Neill & Dias, 2001). Check whether a five-factor solution holds for the data (resilience.sav on the website). Consider alternate factor solutions.
