I personally am going to make it a goal to acquire a Associate LEED certificate after I graduate from my Construction ManagementBS program. With elections over and new positions in government being held, here in California, it isthriving with a strong economy right now. A large part of the success has to do with renewable energy and how we have been conserving and recycling key important natural elements.

“Green Building Initiative” Fact Sheet The Green Building Initiative (Executive Order S‐20‐04) challenges state government to demonstrate leadership in energy efficiency and environmental responsibility in state buildings, while also reducing the impact state facilities have on climate change. The GBI requires the state to reduce grid‐based energy usage in its buildings 20 percent by 2015, and, in so doing, reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with the production of fossil fuel‐based power required to operate those same buildings.

To meet the GBIʹs goals, Governor Schwarzenegger created the Green Action Team, a Cabinet‐level group working to implement the Green Building Initiative. Led by the State and Consumer Services Agency Secretary, the team oversees and directs state efforts.
