THE AMERICAN LEGACY [Year]

America has always been the land of opportunities, the dreamland where
individuals can taste individuality and men and women can come to know what freedom
really is. It is a truth that innumerable people emigrates from their native countries to
the United States in search of a new and prosperous life, and it is also a truth that for
many of such immigrants the American dream remains a dream in the entire course of
life. But though myriads of immigrants (who gradually turn into the minority in the
United States) may experience the withering away of the dreamy picture of America due
to going through the harshness of the American life, it should be a folly on our end to
remark that life for the immigrants and the minorities in the United States is
devastating and hellish. In my opinion for the immigrants and for all those minorities
residing in the American society life is an admixture of likes and dislikes, freedom and
confinement, the achievable and the unachievable.
