In our society there are many children’s who are suffering from some sort of disability. These disabilities create some sort of hindrance in performing the normal day-to-day activities. There are many kinds of childhood disability such as visual, hearing, loco motor and many more impairments. However, the early childhood intervention will help these children’s to move ahead on the path of developing skills and abilities during their early years. The early intervention in the child learning services not only supports the children’s, however the parents are also being benefitted because of the frustration, stress, disappointment and helplessness because of their children with disabilities. This provides a ray of hope that the children’s will have a smooth and successful life in their later stages of life. There are also many theoretical approaches, as that will help the teachers in helping the students with learning disabilities to learn as with respect to the normal students. In this article, a detailed discussion will be made with respect to the process and strategies that will help the disable students to learn and demonstrate their skills and abilities to cope with the education system. Further, the theories of learning will also be discussed with respect to the disable students.
Understanding one Disability
There are lot o disability from which the children’s face. That includes the hearing, visual, mental, motor and so on. Among them, one of the problems that are being faced is the problem of dyslexia. D’Mello & Gabrieli (2018) have discussed that dyslexia is a form of learning disorder that involves difficulty in the reading and that occurs due to the problems identifying speech sound and learning the manner in which they relate the letters and words. The disability in learning also affects the brain functions and that reduces the processing power of the brain.
People with the dyslexia have the normal intelligence and they have a usually normal vision. Most of the children with dyslexia can succeed in the school with help of the proper tuition and through specialized education program the children’s who face with the problem of dyslexia must be given with the emotional support as that will provide the children’s with confidence to learn.
Ramus, Altarelli, Jednorog, Zhao and Di Covella (2018) have further added that in the early stages of the learning phase the problem is identified. The symptoms are generally are late talking, learning new words very slowly, confusion regarding the words and the manner they sound creates confusion among the children. They also face problem while remembering names and letter along with colour and numbers.
These problems create the learning abilities below the expected level and that affect their academic performance. They have also problem with respect to understanding what they hear and listen and that delays the processing in their brain regarding the exact meaning of that word or sentence. They also have the problem regarding judging what is right and what is wrong. They also face problems regarding the sequence and order of any words or sentence and that creates a huge problem in learning activities.
These kinds of problems faced by the students also create a tension among the children’s as well as to their parents. The parents have the fear regarding their future and academic future and thus they try to figure out the solution. There are a number of processes through which the learning abilities and the capabilities are explored and that helped the students through the joint participation of the parents and the teachers to make the learning easier and acceptable for the disabled students.
