Using air properties given in the appendix and assuming a reasonable temperature for properties, find this heat transfer coefficient. 2) Perform an energy balance for one ear, making sure you include all forms of energy exchange. 3) From the energy balance, solve for the ear temperature. 4) What would be the new ear temperature when the sun is at an angle of 10° to the normal to the top ear surface? 5) Comment on whether the change in ear temperature from step 4 makes sense, i.e., would there be any biological factor that would work toward reducing such drastic change?
