Users surfing the Internet generally leave web pages very quickly, often within 10–20 seconds. Some research suggests that the first 10 seconds of a page visit are critical to a decision to read further. A random sample of users visiting similar web pages, one with advertisements and one without, was obtained. The time (in seconds) for each visit was recorded, and the data are given in the following table.
Kroll’s South restaurant serves dairy products in two separate buffet lines. Independent random samples of the dairy products holding temperature (in °F) in each line were obtained. Use the Wilcoxon rank-sum test to determine whether there is any evidence to suggest that the population median holding temperatures are different. Use a = 0.05, and find the p value associated with this test.
