Select ONE art work from Chapter One, ONE art work from Chapter Two, and ONE art work from Chapter Three. Using the Intro. to your textbook, discuss each work you have selected. For example, identify how old it is, what culture it comes from, whether it is two-dimensional or three-dimensional, what it is made of, how it was made (do some research into the techniques or materials), what it was made for (if we know or have theories).Check what things mean before you write about them,use internetsearches wisely. This is just a simple exercise in how to look at and how to write about art works. Lastly, mention why you chose each work. After you have identified each of the three works you chose, spend at least one paragraph comparing/contrasting them with one another.

From this chapter, the chosen artwork is Lascaux Painting. Art historians study the visual as well as the tangible objects that humans make and the structure that they build. These paintings are really praise worthy as it supports with various inner meanings and myths, which depict the ancient history.
The range of objects that art historians’ study is constantly expanding and know presently they had started using the computer-generated images, which gives an attractive presentation. However, in the past almost anything used and produced; through machine would not have been regarded as art. This chapter’s main concern is Lascaux painting (Gardner & Kleiner, 2009).
This particular painting is 15,000 to 17,000 years old and represent the animal painting specially the horses, bison, ibex and many more. It is considered as one of the finest and best artwork from the Upper Paleolithic period. The special and interesting point in this regard is that the dot of the interior wall of the cave is the most attractive note and is quite impressive composition.
The painting has no background, no indication of the place and settings. The style of the Lascaux painting represents an early signs and outlook of individual’s desire in order to make sense of the outer surroundings through the artistic expression. The...
