Your instructions need to explain a step-by-step process that produces a clear end result. In terms of format, do a written instruction (Use !!!YOUR OWN PICTURES!!! to help the audience distinguish what to do and also help distinguish the tools, if they need any.). There needs to be a minimum of 7-10 pictures for this assignment. Your body can’t be in any of the images. (Keep your face, hands, etc.. out of the pictures) ______________________________________________________________________ THINGS TO CONSIDER ● Write for a beginner. Spell out details, use imperative voice (simple commands), and define unfamiliar terms ● A peer of mine will be user testing these instructions, so it should be something they could conceivably do safely and cheaply. ● You will be creating your own visuals. This means you will be taking photos with your phone for the steps in the process. ● The topic should have a moderate difficulty level. Don’t choose a topic that is so easy that most people could do it without needing to look up instructions, or one that is likely to already be covered in the place the person wanting to do the task would most likely look (like the Help menu of a particular app or a recipe). ○ Flip side: You also can’t do anything too difficult either (oil changes or tire changes are examples of instructions to avoid doing). ● The topic should not promote activity that is illegal, borderline illegal, or unethical.
