HYPERLINK "javascript:Message.refreshTree();"US dollar dominance William comment : I can see an issue for the future of the U.S. dollar but several things would have to happen. China and other emerging powers like Russia would need to make agreements to move away for the U.S. dollar in international trade. Also, major oil producing nations would have to start selling oil in currencies other than the U.S. dollar and finally a new global reserve currency would need to be created independent of the dollar. But, I don’t see any of these things happening any time soon. Khaled comment: The politics in a country plays an important role in the dominance of a country. If the legislation of a particular country does not encourage trade, then a country cannot be able to dominate internationally. The emergence of other strong currencies such as the Renmimbi (RMB) could cause the US to lose its dominant financial position in the world.
