ISLAM AND ITS ASSOCIATED ETHICS
    Religious belief and faith can be a strong determin
ant of the ideological inclinations and practices of any individual. These ideologies ideally lay down the belief system that an individual engages in and the way of life opted for by that particular individual. Religious faith goes beyond the mere presumption of or submission to a higher power. A religion dictates a way of life and the same is a disciple on its own. Islam as a religion has an inherent need to propagate ethical conduct and harmonious cohabitation. The ethical aspect of Islam may be construed to be an enamoring phenomenon as the following paragraphs will explain.
    Originating and evolving from Mecca and Medina in the 7th century Islam is now one of the most practiced religions worldwide and has had various luminaries through the ages who practiced the faith. As explained above Islam has an underlying need to propagate ethical conduct and the quoted text from Quran 3:133 would illuminate the same. The quote first speaks of being embraced by the Lord into paradise (Aldulaimi 2016). Yet the latter suggests that a path to the Lord must be walked to upon to attain such a place. The path the Lord is illuminated by various elements that must be observed to be able to achieve the same, the first being generosity in times of riches and adversity. This thus speaks of a truly whole hearted approach to generosity and magnanimity as the same would have to be observed despite personal adversities. The second element discussed in the quote refers to the repression of anger. Anger can often lead to monstrous and heinous acts and at all other times brings malice to one’s heart and disrupts personal peace and tranquility. It would thus be crucial to preserve such a serene and tranquil mental set up through which the path towards the Lord can be walked upon. Thus the absence of anger would resultantly inculcate the...
