Work Health and Safety officers take the responsibility of keeping a check on the workers’ health and safety as well as the enforcement of the codes and regulatory standards in the workplace environment. The Work Health and Safety acts and regulatory standards seek to establish welfare and safety of employees and other people at work.     The Occupational Health and Safety Act recognises the psychological wellbeing of the employees within the definition and premises of workplace health, safety and welfare. Therefore, it is expected that any kind of workplace hazards, which can be physical or psychological, be identified, assessed, reduced, reviewed and if necessary, removed. Workplace bullying can have major negative implications on the wellbeing and productivity of the employees, such as distress, anxiety attacks, physical illness, reduced work performance and productivity, decreased regularity, loss of self-esteem, deteriorating relationships with co-employees and employers, depression and so on.
