Unit Assessment Guide Unit Assessment Guide Unit code SITTTSL006 Unit name Prepare quotations Unit purpose Preparing quotes requires the ability to source the required products and services, accurately calculate the costs of these and present the information to the customer in a document which clearly outlines the inclusions, exclusions and conditions of purchase relevant to the sale. Your result will be recorded as Achieved Competence (AC) or Not Competent (NC) Pre-requisite/ Co-requisite units Nil Assessment plan To demonstrate competence in this unit, you must successfully complete each of the following assessment events: Event 1 Portfolio Event 2 Short answer questions Assessment events Submission instructions Please see your facilitator in order to determine suitable dates to submit each assessment event for marking. Student is required to provide the following materials and equipment Your assessment events must be submitted online via the Studespace website as per the instructions on the course introduction page. · Additional resources Nil required · Facilitator support and supervision There is no facilitator supervision required for these assessment events. If you are unclear about any aspect of the assessment please contact your facilitator for guidance. Student collaboration Student collaboration is not permitted. Assessment attempts If you do not successfully complete an assessment event you may be given the opportunity to have a second attempt. This must be negotiated with your facilitator Assessment feedback, review or appeals Teachers will provide feedback within 10 business days after all assessment activities have been conducted. You may appeal an assessment decision within three weeks of receiving your results. To request a review of your results contact your teacher or head teacher. If they are unavailable, ask Student Administration to assist you. Whatever the form of assessment, it is essential that the work students are assessed on is their own. Assessment event 1: Portfolio Prepare five (5) quotations and one (1) amended quote for the Innovation & Tech Fest 20XX This assessment event requires you to submit a portfolio of evidence that demonstrates your ability to store quotation details for future reference and present quotations to clients. For this portfolio you will prepare five (5) quotations and one (1) amended quote for the Innovation and Tech Fest. For each quote your evidence must include: 1. Completed quotation template for each of the quotes 2. Completed event proposal for each quote The assessment for this event is based on the following scenario and answers must be submitted using the templates provided in the Appendices. Assessment Overview & Scenario: You work as the Events Coordinator for TravelEvents Connect and have been asked to calculate the following five (5) quotations for the upcoming Innovation & Tech Fest 20XX Conference at The Conference Centre, Sydney next year for your client. Quote 1: Prepare a quotation template & client proposal for the conference for your client Sydney Technology Experts Quote 2: Prepare a quotation template & client proposal for the keynote speaker booked for the event Quote 3:Provide a quotation template & client proposal for the exhibitors at the event Quote 4:Source and provide a quotation template & client proposal for the spouses attending the event Quote 5:Provide a quotation template & client proposal which covers the band requirements, as outlined (further below) Quote 6: Amend the band requirements quote, as outlined further below and complete a role-play. Task 2: Quotation for Keynote speaker Prepare a quotation for the keynote speaker which includes the following: · Accommodation for 2 nights in a single superior room with breakfast. She would like a 4 star hotel in Darling Harbour. · Parking at the hotel for the 2 days/1 night · Equipment hire: Andrea (the keynote speaker) wants you to provide her with a quote for a her audio-visual requirements (outlined in the scenario) to use during the event. Part A: Complete the given quotation template (Appendix A) using the information provided in this assessment as well as prices you research on the internet. Prices for the equipment hire are listed in Appendix D; these rates will need to be marked up by 10% for your profit. Using the internet recommend a hotel in Darling Harbour (4 star with breakfast) and obtain a price for a single superior room. Once you have obtained the rates add a mark-up of $40 per room per night to the price for your profit margin. No mark-up is required for the cost of the parking. Part B: Check all calculations, inclusions and exclusions against all individual product and service components to ensure accuracy and make adjustments if necessary and then complete the given Client Proposal (Appendix B) to be presented to your client. Task 3: Quotation for Exhibitors Prepare a quotation for the exhibitors inclusive of the following: · Ten (10) Exhibition booths (3 metres x 3 metres) for two days including signage and lighting. · Parking at the conference venue – 2 days for 5 cars. · Catering for both days including morning tea, afternoon tea and lunch only for the 10 pax. They are not attending the Gala Dinner. Part A: Complete the given quotation template (Appendix A) using the information provided in this assessment as well as prices you research on the internet. Prices for the catering and parking are listed in Appendix C; these rates will need to be marked up by 10% for your profit. Prices for the Exhibition booths are listed in Appendix D and will need to be marked up by $30 per booth for your profit.
