Unit 5 - Microsoft Project Schedule - Gantt Chart Using your 200 task or greater WBS, create appropriate dependencies between your tasks. You may identify additional tasks that you didn't initially think of or you may decide to move things around a bit. You need to have the following items properly done: - Proper Use of summary tasks - No linking to summary tasks - Use at least 5 Leads and 5 Lags - Must have at least 5 Constraints - at least one - Start no earlier than - All tasks must have predecessors and successors - Setup the Project Start Date -Include Durations for all tasks Estimate the effort required to complete each task. Determine for each task whether the estimate is duration or work. If you need to display the Work column in Microsoft Project, right-click the Duration column, select Insert Column and select Work from the list of available columns. Enter your estimates into your Microsoft Project schedule. Remember, don't assign estimates to Summary tasks, the time necessary to complete the Summary task is based on the estimates of the tasks that roll up to the Summary task. Refer to PMBOK Chapter 6 "Project Time Management".
